It depends on which trail we are going to take. For example, the Rio do Boi Trail (a trail which involves a lot of water), you might prefer lightweight sneakers that won’t get too heavy when wet. The downside is they offer less ankle support and increase the risk of sprains. On the other hand, hiking boots provide better ankle protection but can feel heavy and uncomfortable when soaked.

Important tip: Never hit the trail in brand-new shoes! Your feet will thank you if the shoes are already softened and adjusted to your feet.
